We live in an era of information overload. Every day, billions of claims circulate online: in news articles, social media posts, political speeches, and opinion pieces. Most people don't have the time to verify what they read. We built OurTruth to change that.

Our mission

OurTruth makes fact-checking effortless. Highlight any claim on any webpage, click Evaluate, and get an instant verdict backed by real sources. We believe an informed public is a healthier democracy.

How it works

OurTruth uses a two-pass AI pipeline. First, a large language model evaluates the claim against its training knowledge. If the claim involves recent events or time-sensitive data, it performs a live web search to find current sources before rendering a verdict.

Verdicts are cached and deduplicated, so if many people check the same claim, the research is done once and shared. This keeps the service fast and costs low.

OurTruth is an independent project built by a small team who believe technology should help people think more clearly, not less. We're not affiliated with any political party, news organization, or government body.
